The Mantis Claw has been involved with the Arizona music scene since 1993, when he was 17. His involvement with local sensations Supermarket and Morse Code has led to him playing with more national headliners than he can count, with artists like KRS-ONE, Lincoln Park, and Dj Q-bert to name a few. Currently The Mantis Claw performs every Wednesday as Resident DJ at Kazimierz World Wine Bar in Scottsdale. This weekly event is a testament to the Mantis Claw’s versatility and broad appeal.
Whether performing live or in the studio, the Mantis Claw employs a musical technique that transcends genres and cultures.
The Mantis Claw’s performance combines his scratching virtuosity with a soul moving selection of drum heavy tracks in turn creating a new sound that is truly personal and authentic. A typical set may weave a sonic tapestry of dubstep, reggae, dnb, hiphop, and other beat driven styles in a skillful and flowing movement.
