About the Artist
Eileen Rothe is a rocker with a poetic soul. Her classical training has led her to a powerful, piano-driven style that suits her soulful, edgy voice. She’s been graciously compared to the likes of Kate Bush and Tori Amos but has her own unique je ne sais quoi. Rothe debut EP “Dream Girl” (Hipposonic Records) has the magical touch of producer Jeff Dawson (John Wozniak, Holly McNarland, Daniel Powter) and mixer Mike Fraser (Aerosmith, AC/DC, Rush). The EP has wide appeal, receiving glowing praise from fans and the industry alike; the songs have had rave reviews on OurStage.com, iLike.com, Garageband.com and continue to attract new fans worldwide. Rothe has toured Canada and has performed at Vancouver’s very own New Music West festival. She’s also played at UBC’s Thunderbird Stadium at the Camp Moomba Yogathon (in support of Canadian kids who are impact by HIV/AIDS). A little known fact is that Rothe was personally invited to audition for Julie Taymor’s Broadway musical ‘Spiderman’ (music by Bono and The Edge) and travelled to NYC to show off her pipes to casting legend Bernard Telsey.
