About the ArtistI was born in Tbilisi, Republic of Georgia on 7-th October, 1986. I'm studying music since I was 6. I graduated from Tbilisi Z. Anjaparidze Music College, Piano Faculty (1993-2003), also from the vocal faculty of the Experimental Music School at the Tbilisi State Conservatory (1993-2003), and from Tbilisi State Conservatory Piano Faculty (2003-2008) I'm a laureate of several International Piano Competitions (Pinault Music Society International Piano Competition in New York, USA, etc...) I have performed at the Steinway Hall, NY in 2000... Traveling to America had a very big influence on me and played a major role for me to get into popular music. At that period I started to write songs and get into the music industry. I took a stage name: "Emkay", made up from my initials (M and K). I've worked in the popular and classical music spheres simultaneously. In 2003 I moved on to study at the Tbilisi State Conservatory, Classical Piano Faculty, from which I successfully graduated in 2008. I've set up my own home studio, started to learn music production and sound engeneering. I've realeased one independent album "Listen to the voice" in Georgia in 2005. I had several songs on airplay on "Fortune + FM 103.4", Local Radio Station. I had 6 music videos, made using 3D grahics, which were broadcasted on the local TV "Maestro". In 2006, I took part in the project "Rock-Cantata - Generation XXI", The premiere was at the Tbilisi Opera and Ballet State Theatre, Performed by symphonic orchestra, rock group, popular singers and soloists. I was one one of the authors, performer and organizer of this event, which got a lot of success. In 2007 my song "Passion" got a Honorable Prize at the "Song of the Year" contest. (USA) Also in 2007, I've participated in a National Patriotic Song Contest of Georgia "Patri-Note", The song I wrote called "We will Change", was performed in the finals of the contest at the Tbilisi Philarmonic Hall. I've also composed film soundtracks, theatre music and music for ads on television. I'm hoping to get past the borders, and make my music heard worldwide... From September, 2008, I will be studying at the Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA, USA.
