Epik who’s birth name is Eric Jordan. From Shreveport, LA this southern gentleman has been singing since childhood. He sang in the church choir and played drums for his church. However, at the age of thirteen EPIK entered and won his first talent show. That win sparked the desire to pursue a career in music. After relocating to Dallas with his family he co-founded an R&B group. The group showcased their material throughout the Dallas metroplex. As time passed and the group matured into young men he realized that the group no longer shared the same vision. He decided that since the music was not working out for him, he’d join the Marine Corps. After his discharge from the military EPIK returned to Dallas with music still embedded in his mind, body, and soul. He then joined the likes of a local Dallas record label as a solo artist. He was quickly welcomed and embraced for his raw talent, and ambition. During this time he experienced the struggles and strife that most starving artists have to endure in order to make it in the music business. After a couple of years with the label he made a conscious decision to simply walk his own path. EPIK felt that the only way he could share his new vision with others would be to create and distribute his music on his terms. EPIK’ s latest venture entitled Out the Blue is his first full-length independent release. The album allows the listener to catch a glimpse of where R&B music will soon be going thanks to this soul-grabbing artist. Eric’s list of performances include opening for artists such as, Mary Mary, Case, JOE, Urban Mystic, Debra Cox, Noel Gordin, Dwelle, Carl Thomas, Jon B, comedian Damon Williams and Zapp. He has performed at such venues as the Hard Rock Cafe, Showtime at the Apollo. He has also been a featured artist at the Ebony Black Family Reunion Tour in Dallas, KRNB Kwanzaa Fest, The Taste of Dallas, Sneaky Pete’s KRNB Concert, The Blues Palace and the Tricks in the Hat variety show on DCTV. "Until you’ve known my struggles, until you’ve felt my pain. Until you’ve seen what I’ve done to maintain. Until you’ve heard my sorrows. EPIK You definitely can’t knock his hustle.
