Ferris Wheel is an indie pop band with folk rock influences. Hailing from Boston (by way of North Andover), Massachusetts, the band was formed in 2007 by singer-songwriters Josh Bolduc and Justine Bowe. Recruiting drummer/bassist Mike Moschetto to take on a rhythmic role, the trio worked feverishly throughout 2008 writing, arranging and demoing their refined brand of elegant pop-rock. Once settled at BC, Tufts and Emerson (respectively), they filled out their lineup with cellist Shaheen Lavie-Rouse, guitarist Joe Solof, bassist Mike Wolfenden and trumpeter Sawyer Bernath.
The band's influences range from the vintage feel of Leonard Cohen and Creedence Clearwater Revival to the modern baroque pop of Fleet Foxes and The National to the alt-rock twang of Bright Eyes and Rilo Kiley. The members have come together after storied backgrounds in many genres over the years - hardcore, pop-punk, classical - all of which broaden the spectrum of Ferris Wheel's sound.
Upcoming projects for the band include the release of some home demos, local shows and a studio EP due in 2009.
