admin@findingjimmyhoffa.comNamed the “Godfathers of Southern Grunge” by their fan base, Finding Jimmy Hoffa is well known in their community for combining many hoard rock influences ranging from Clutch to Deftones with deep roots in southern soil, creating their unique musical style.
Finding Jimmy Hoffa originally formed in April of 2007 as a four-piece hard rock group from remnants of the former popular local band known as Bad Mojo. In their infancy, the band was asked to perform the following summer at the Osceola Music Festival in their hometown where they opened for Jim Dandy & Black Oak Arkansas to a large and enthusiastic audience. This kind of response to their original sound gave the band inspiration to record a self produced 5-song EP titled “What Would You Do?” which was recorded ad Dream Makers Productions. After completing the recording of the EP, the band realized that a second guitar would be an appropriate addition to the group. With this in mind, Jason, James, Joey, and Shawn found and recruited Chet to complete the group in early 2008.
With the EP out, the band soon began receiving air play on numerous local radio shows, including 93x in Memphis and Z95 the Bone in Poplar Bluff. It was through these outlets that the band entered the next step of their career, catching the ears of Massey Records President, Dave Vanlandingham. “We heard them on ‘Locals Only’, a show featuring bands for the mid-south region on 93x, and our company (DMA Entertainment) was hosting a charity concert for the homeless, so we decided to ask them to play. They definitely stole the 6-band lineup show!” Soon after, with the help of Massey Records, Finding Jimmy Hoffa found themselves back in the studio, recording their album, “Southern Hospitality”. Produced my Mike Bailey (Sleepy LaBeef, The Wedding), Finding Jimmy Hoffa were able to creat a hard rock southern grunge feel that they felt encompassed their sound. The album was release on Mar 17th 2009. The band is working on setting up a national tour this summer/fall.

“Finding Jimmy Hoffa is a five piece band blending dark haunting lyrics with growling rhythm and a soulful blues-based guitar. The songs on their debut album, Southern Hospitality, are a sensory experience that leaves me entranced by the poetic beauty of it all, even long after listening. Dark, painful and poetic, is what best describes Finding Jimmy Hoffa and these guys will definitely charm you with their own brand of “Southern Hospitality”

Finding Jimmy Hoffa took that stage, and with a huge build-up from producer and festival organizer, Malcolm Springer, the band absolutely tore the stage up! Ala Stone Temple Pilot on steroids meets southern rock greatness, FJH kept the crowd pretty pumped!
