About the ArtistLos Angeles based singer/songwriter Franki Love is a rare talent and multifaceted artist: writer, composer, poet, and musician. A consummate artist whose songs reach into your heart and stay there long after the music ends.
As a classically trained pianist since 5 years of age, Franki’s passion and talent for music blossomed before she could even read a book. “Never in a million years would I have thought that I would be a singer, says Franki. “But life is mysterious and beautiful. When I began to listen to songs with deep lyrics and strong melodies like Carole King’s, You've Got A Friend, Tracy Chapman's, Fast Car, and The Beatles, Let It Be, they completely enraptured me.”
Her enchantment with songs of such depth and quality struck such a deep chord in her heart, so Franki started to write poetry. Naturally, her piano expertise combined with her flowing poetics came together into song. “After I wrote my first song, time stood still for a while. I experienced an epiphany that woke me up. I realized I needed to devote my life to music and songwriting.”
Franki has been honored with the “Female Singer/Songwriter of the Year” award at the L.A. Music Awards and her song Shadow was awarded as Adult Contemporary Single of the Year. She won the “Best Song of the Month” award from Songwriter Universe in 2009 and she has also composed for T.V. and film, including music for Tony Kaye, director of American History X. In her spare time, Love enjoys devoting her time to non-profits that help underprivileged children learn about music.
