Julienne has a very eclectic and unique background. Born in Brooklyn, raised both there and in Quakertown, Pennsylvania. Its like they say, “You can take the girl out of the city, but not the city out of the girl." She has experienced the culture of her family, her mother being of Dominican descent and her father an Italian. Julienne appreciates groups like Aventura, Juan Luis Guerra, and Kiko Rodriguez from hearing them played on the stereo at family parties. Her father showed her Big Bands and artists like Elvis Presley, Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, and Benny Goodman. As she got older she was wowed by N'SYNC, Backstreet Boys, Maria Carey, and B2k. At the age 9 Julienne began to play the flute, and at the beginning of high school, taught herself the piano by learning Enya songs. At the end of high school and into college she acquired a taste for Jazz and Classical music. Because of her influences she now looks up to today’s artists like Alicia Keys, Beyonce, Carrie Underwood, Colbie Caillat, even a Hip Hop artist like Jay Z. She would like to have her music enjoyed by everyone. Also, she does not want to isolate herself to one genre, and she would love to collaborate with artists from other types of genres. When moving to New York, Julienne had to find what defined her most. That was the toughest period in her life. Quickly, she learned whom to trust and not trust, which is never an easy task. Along her journey, she met producer and mentor Danny Madden. Danny helped Julienne tap into her deeper emotions without fear. While working with Danny, she recorded her latest self titled album. When you listen to her music you cannot only hear her emotion, but can also feel it and relate to it. The song "Just Leave" came from her being one of the many to always find Mr. Wrong. "Thank You" is her anthem to the end of a struggle of finding Mr. Right. It is her way of thanking him for showing her how to love and to be loved. As for the rest of the album, Julienne wrote songs to help motivate herself as well as those who listen them; each of them unique and a message of their own. Her latest album is only a taste of what is to come. Julienne expresses herself through her music, and her music defines everything about her.
