BIO... Don't know why I got one, and really, who cares? Anyway for the sake of having to have one here is a very brief outline of my life, no heart, no soul just the facts without the all the drama in between..... I grew up in the rural hill of the Huon Valley in Tasmania Australia. Some early influences were of Jim Reeves and Patsy Cline. My earliest performances were at local church and town functions. In fact religion and gospel music dominated the first 12 years of my life and yes I can still remember the words to Rock Of Ages and Go Tell It On The Mountain, for some reason the songs I learned as a kid are burned on my brain. My life since then has been filled with with music including leading the local high school rock band and singing weekends at a theatre restaurant in Hobart. The change in musical style came about when I moved to the city to live with my bio mum, love you muchly mumma!! and bangers and mash are still a favorite with me hehehe (she knows what I am talking bout lol!). Ok onwards....       While working as a Jillaroo at Tennant Creek in the Northern Territory (too much of a yarn to tell how I got there but I was 18 and I am pretty sure Neil Young and The Band dominated all the way from Melbourne with a large splash of Janis), I entered my first Country Music Talent Quest. Winning gave me confidence to go on to compete in a string of Major Festival Competitions (I won a few too, when I moved to Queendsland!) but more importantly got my very first ever paper article (I still have it haha).  The wins put me on Country Music stages including Starmaker 2 times, Norfolk Island as an Australian representative oi oi oi!! in the Trans Tasman Entertainer of the Year, and I gained entry into the College of Country Music whereI got to work with the likes of Rod Coe, Dobe Newton Allan Caswell and Denise Morrison to name drop a few and it was the first time I got Pharyagitis too!!(spelled pharyngitis after I google the spelling lol). I could barely sing a note the entire time and did I mention I took the wrong suitcase when I got off the bus and the knickers in it were way to big for me!      As my presence within the industry became better known (hahaha dont you love that when it happens...speaking of that, make the most of it becuase that stuff comes and goes, anyway I am being easly distracted again), I often was the national anthem singer at the Cowboys NRL and Townsville Croc's basketball teams home games. I got to support Warewolves of London's Warren Zevon on his North Queensland tour, I sang Whitney Houston and it went down like a lead balloon, at the time I could'nt quite work out why. I also sang and acted in local theatre and got to be Ado Annie in Oklahoma, the girl who couldnt say no..say no more lol but seriously a major highlight was when I worked with Bjarne Ohlin (Divinyls) doing radio jingles and just jamming, we had a few tunes down and we planned to do show's but we really didnt get past the jamming part which I totally loved! Boys In Town was the first song I sang live in the Rokeby High School rock band the guys were my rock heros. At that time, living in a town like Townsville meant I had the heart and soul of the community backing me and was sponsored by Toyota Australia, Fourex and Channel 10 which paid for a tour in outback Queensland... Oh What A Feeling!! Yep we did the jump! And I will pos the picture here of the Stationhands (my band) doing it!   After a move to South East Queensland where my main focus was on being a mum (soccer mum and all lol but seriously I love the game as much as my son does) I sang at local pubs, clubs and private functions in and around the south east corner of the state and Beaudesert in my heart is still the most welcoming community of people down here, thank you guys for always filling up the venues where we played.  Luella my long time friend and touring artist asked me to join her as support vocalist in her band The Heelers and recently we have joined together as a duo act for a few shows (but I am still more comfortable being your backing singer Wellie), what can I say its a cruisy gig. While supporting Luella in Tamworth, Michael Flanders and Rob Mackay of Pacific International Music heard me singing and offered to help kick off a long overdue album. I left for Nashville early 2011 (man it gets cold over there) I got to get fairly close to a tornado eat crab and ribs, drink light beer which is not light at all (long story) and the album is due for release early 2012!! Importantly though the highlight was not seeing the Country Music Hall of Fame or any landmark for that matter, the highlight was writing with some very cool and talented people, I love evey song and learned so much and not just about music! The entire team were more than welcoming made me feel like family. I will miss going to the Bay, thank you so much Rob for always putting the song first!! I actually love this part ...I really feel like I am where I am meant to be right now...who knows what is going to be tagged on the end of this....
