About the Artist

Born & raised in Everett, WA this MC has been up & down throughout the Great Pacific Northwest. Early years spent in the NW's version of the 'Ville. Located about an hour from the greater Seattle area, Marysville is this MCs' hometown and roots. When he was 16, his family relocated to the central Oregon coast. He remained in the Everett area for about a year living with his lifelong mentor and friend, FiveOne. While watching him pursue his goals and learning the craft, YP began to write verses and bounce them off Weez.. Even when they were thrown away pages, Weez would continue the encouragement and tell him to crack that barrier. In 2002 YP followed his family and moved to Waldport, OR, a small town located about 15 minutes from Newport, OR. He continued to write verses and record them as a live mixtape with Frank "Ripples" Christens. He would perform at house parties and local venues such as the Youth Center and the high school. At 18, he enrolled in the National Guard or Oregon. After 2 1/2 years he was Honorably Discharged. By this time he still freestyled from time to time, but for the most part, life happened and his art was put on the back burner. After about 7-8 years he found his self single and wondering what happened to what he had dreamed. He began making moves once again in 2011. First, recording his first single in about 7 years. "All I Know" was written and recorded with FiveOne, Kountry Blak & Woadie in September of 2011; this is when he began outlining his plan. In the summer of 2012 he recorded the the first installment of the mixtape series. In the next several months he would move to the Portland area for a more diverse platform to begin from. 2013 he released "Sound Check" with his business partner R. Kline of Ratchit Records. He is currently working on the 4th installment of Sound Check, along with other collaborations. He is in the process of certification in Music Technologies at Clackamas Community College in Oregon City, OR; which should be completed in the Spring of 2015. As of now he has several projects he is working on, along with school. Watch out once this dude can do it professionally by himself. Scary how persistence, patience, & dreams can drive you to success in reality's realm.
