About the Artist
As a native southern transplant, Kris Lakota brings a high dose of country to the urban streets of New York City. Blending neo-traditional sounds with alternative country and radio-style Americana, Kris is steadily turning New York City’s most prestigious rock venues like Kenny’s Castaways and The Bitter End, into high-energy honky tonks.
The Harbinger EP was produced by family friend and musical legend, Al Bell (Stax Records & Motown Records, and writer of the Staples Singers’ hit song “I’ll Take You There”). It is currently receiving radio play on Nashville’s NBRN.FM, Little Rock’s 88.3 KABF , and New York University’s 89.1 WNYU.
“...I haven't been this excited about an artist since Marvin Gaye...great songwriter…already ahead of the game…” – Al Bell, Stax Records, Motown Records
...I got a checkmark next to [his] name...could be the next big thang..." - Greg Thompson, Drummer for Usher
