About the Artist

~Lee EmCee~ Introduced to the hip hop scene in 2004, Jeames was listening to Tupac, Nas, Gangstarr back at school ... little did he know then hip hop would one day be the biggest influence on my life, In a good way. I was introduced to Australian Hip Hop in 2005, Pegz, Hilltop, Brad Strut, Bias B, Lazy .... they all started to tell different stories, but in some ways more then one I could relate. So one day I thought I would just try, attepmt, why not ... nothing to lose ... If at first you dont succeed, please, please, try again" (Cannibal Ox - Pigeon) Honestly, to tell the truth, when I started, I was terrible. I needed work if I wanted to become anything. Which over time, my flow & lyrical content I would say myself has dramtically improved since then. You are your own toughest critic ... impress yourself & ur on the right track" - (Quoted by many hip hop artists) When I was in school, 05, I was given the nickname LeeBoy. Reason why, obviously being the rebellious teenager i thought, waggin school all the time, I would wear an undershirt with graffiti styled letters spelling "LEE" ... so it stuck from 05 to now. Hence artist name Lee EmCee. The purpose of this biography is so you can have a faint understanding of my background, & how I've used it into my music. Ive recently participated in the Megiddo Street Rap Battle competition 10 ... I placed in at 3rd for my first arrival into the offical Brisbane Battle Scene. I plan to attend most if not all to come. Over the past 4 months, I've been working on 2 MixTapes. I see no need to rush things, the more I wait, the more I learn. The 1st M/T is my solo artist mixtape ... will consist of at least 15 songs, plus hope to put on a few live freestyles. Having featured artists from around AUS, UK & USA. The 2nd M/T however is a two man job ... Lee EmCee & GLD ... 2 brisbane artists working together, different flows & stories combined will make it a worthwhile listen. I plan to attend a sound engineering course, to further benifit my skills for this industry. For a career path, I would love to one day open my own recording studio ... everyone can have dreams...work is reality & reality works. At the end of the day, no matter what happens, hip hop will always remain my true aspect in life. Fame or No Fame... you can never be less of what you were before you took the step, without taking a step or two in life, you could never be more. As i wonder through this world, i wonder where my place is, life's a mystery you either hate it or embrace it, the one thing holding you back is that I doubt that ill make it!"
