Fracture is a group from Atlanta, GA whose draw on contemporary and classic veins of rock has spawned an upbeat and refreshing synergy of sound. The band consists of Bria Kam (vocals/keys), Tyler Coon (drums), and brothers Jon David “JD” Gibbs (guitar) and Harrison Gibbs (bass). In their short time together, they have garnered numerous accolades while catching the eyes and ears of everyone in their wake including Southern Tracks Records with whom they signed in early 2010. Fracture’s debut EP is slated for release later this year through Southern Tracks Records. It was produced and engineered by Tom Tapley (Pearl Jam, Bruce Springsteen, Sugarland, Faith Hill, Joe Perry, Incubus, Velvet Revolver, etc.) at Southern Tracks Recording Studio in Atlanta (home to Aerosmith, the Black Crowes, Bob Dylan, Elton John, Pearl Jam, Bruce Springsteen, Stone Temple Pilots, etc.) and was mastered by Rodney Mills (Journey, Pearl Jam, Stone Temple Pilots, Lynyrd Skynyrd, etc.). The six-track EP will feature a guest performance from musician and engineer, David Leonard (India.Arie), and a new single called “Stand Alone,” which was co-written by JD and Bria. Following a chance meeting at a community event in Atlanta, Tyler began to collaborate with Bria on her endeavors as a singer-songwriter. After numerous shows throughout the Atlanta area, including several sold-out stints at The Red Light Cafe and Eddie's Attic, an appearance at the Atlantis Music Conference, and headlining slots at the Inman Park Festival, Roswell Women's Art Festival, and Screen on the Green Film Festival, the duo was ready to expand the lineup. Tyler called upon his former high school buddies, JD and Harrison, with whom Tyler had been involved in a hard rock trio. At Harrison’s suggestion, the band adopted the name Fracture and wasted no time writing new music. They were asked to play a private in-house party for Atlanta’s social elite, and most recently, they had the exclusive privilege of opening up for legendary comedian Jerry Farber at the renowned Punchline Comedy Club. Not long after forming, the group was picked up by Southern Tracks Records, the independent label founded by legendary music publisher Bill Lowery. Visit us on Myspace at www.officialfracture.com!
