About the Artist

In a time where hip-hop has been diagnosed as comatose, Pluckk is the “AWAKENING.” Genetically designed by an architect and birthed by an educator in Washington, DC, he was destined to become a lyrical engineer with a background in urban style and street personification. Pluckk grew up during the infamous 80’s and 90’s in the legendary 8th and H Street neighborhood of Northeast D.C., which is known by many as the stomping grounds for some of the most influential people and life changing events in D.C history. The harsh realities of life in the city blended with his passion and hunger for hip hop at a time when D.C was solely dominated by go-go music only fueled his quest for unprecedented success in the world of hip hop. The illustrious artist Norman Rockwell, who painted basic but brilliant portraits of life, unveiling stories much deeper than the canvas, inspired the moniker Rueben Rockwell. Pluckk embodies the same artistic vision, minus the moniker and true to his District of Columbia given nick name. He is much more than a rapper; he is an artist who paints pictures with prophetic poetry while using music as the landscape and life as the canvas. Pluckk is the prerequisite MC of the future. Owner of, with out a doubt one of the most credible and lyrically potent styles in Hip-Hop culture.
