Biography

Canita Rogers is a native of Montgomery, Alabama. At an early age she became fascinated with music and began pursuing her dreams at nine, by enrolling in piano lessons. Canita Rogers is a native of Montgomery, Alabama. At an early age she became fascinated with music and began pursuing her dreams at nine, by enrolling in piano lessons. With hard work and dedication, she got accepted in the piano department at Carver Creative Performing Art Center (CCPAC), a magnet program local in Montgomery, AL. While at CCPAC Canita’s skills in piano excelled. By the time she reached her senior year of high school she was performing for college music competitions, art shows and other events around the area. After graduating from Carver High School, Canita accepted a full scholarship from the Music Department at Alabama A&M University in Normal, AL. While attending school, she began working in various studios in the Huntsville area. The exposure to other musicians she received while working in studios encouraged her to learn the bass, guitar and many other instruments. Canita graduated from Alabama A&M with a B.S. degree in music education in May 2002. She also has been involved in numerous activities, pledging Sigma Alpha Iota music fraternity for women and the keyboardist for Alabama A&M Jazz band. Canita has performed with numerous artists: local R&B band Remedy as the keyboardist/singer songwriter/producer and periodic bassist, local all-female band Paradigm as the bassist, gospel artist Sean Simmonds as the keyboardist (Alliant Records/Xist Records), “Spanky” Chalmers Alford (guitarist for Raphael Saadiq and D’Angelo), hip-hop artist BoneCrusher as the bassist (Vainglorious Entertainment), and gospel artist Porsha Ray as the keyboardist. She also did some productions for numerous artists: R&B band Remedy (Remedy Live 2005), gospel artist Sean Simmonds (True Story 2006), hip-hop artist BoneCrusher (Free 2007), gospel hip-hop artist King David (LP album 2008), spoken word artist Marc Lacy (Rtiqulation 2008) and (lyricalcode 256), gospel artist Porsha Ray (Dwelling Place 2008), RnB group RecognitioN, Pop/RnB artist Chelsea Tavares (actor Just Jordan), RnB/Soul artist Aretta Hill and many other talented artists and bands within and out of the area. In 2006, Canita established Quiet Girl Music Productions located in Huntsville, AL. It is a music production company that specializes in arranging vocals, creating and recording music tracks to your liking. Canita continues to be tenacious as she excels to accomplish her goals and aspirations of becoming a well-known dynamic musician/producer.
