About the Artist

The “Recover Story” begins in the Spring of 2006 with a conversation between two expatriates, Greg Henry of the USA and Victor van Baal from the Netherlands. While drinking Greek wine in an Athenian garden, they decided to explore playing music together to see if they could gel as a musical unit. After playing to some close friends for fun, they realized that with a little fine tuning, there was great potential for a soulful rhythm and blues rock band! The next step was placing an ad on the internet and in a local magazine, requesting interested musicians and singers to audition. Over the next few months, "Recover" was formed with the addition of three other members, each contributing to what is now the very distinguishable “Recover Sound”. Christopher Pulford, (England), brought genuine originality and experience to the band with his acoustic and electric guitar sound. John Muller, (USA), Recover's flamboyant front man, brought a powerful wide ranged voice and over 20 years of stage experience to the band having written, arranged, played, and co-produced several of his own songs. Rob Blagg, (USA), with his virtuoso drums, added a touch of discipline and professionalism, having played the USA club circuit during the late Seventies and early Eighties. In July of 2007, Angelos Tsourellis, (Greece), joined up with the band. A keyboard maestro supreme, he adds backing sounds, rhythmic groves, and dynamic solos giving Recover a more detailed and richer sound. Each band member has their own musical preferences ranging from Blues and Soul to Rock and Pop, and this is reflected in a variety of cover songs that they perform. Paying tribute to legendary bands and artists such as Bryan Adams, Pink, REM, Greenday, U2, Rolling Stones, Robert Palmer, and U2 has been the driving force for “Recover” With a versatile groove imbedded in the roots of soul, rock and pop, “Recover” has made it’s mark in the Athens Music Scene. “Recover’s” sound captures commercial accessibility augmented with tight musical arrangements.
