I’m Emily Salley. I’m the girl who is best friends with her guitar, out-going, very loud, and pretty much a down for anything kind of person. My family means the world to me. I have an amazing father and mother who provide nothing but what is best for me. I am absolutely in love with one thing. Music and country music is basically my 2nd language. I’ve been playing for about 3 years now. The first time I ever sang in public was in front of my church. Ever since that day, I joined my churches choir, picked up the guitar, sung way more than I use too, and even started writing my own songs. I write based on personal experiences.
Everyone asks me why country music? I tell them because country music just hits home for me. The music itself is just something that every single person can relate too. Whether you’re having a breakup, falling in love, having fun on a summers day, or your dearest friend has passed away. There is a song for every single person in country music. It would be an honor for me to change someone else’s life and influence them with my music.
Prevo Rodgers, Jr. heard me singing Traveling Soldier by the Dixie Chicks, on grandparent’s day at my school. The night before, I was close to not singing. Something inside of me told me I should perform. I am so glad that I listened to that little voice. It is so funny how things work out. I never say that it is luck; I say that I am blessed. I showed him the first song I had written, “Fall a Little More”, and he loved it. So, we decided that would be the first song I would record. He introduced me to his Studio Musician Dustin Craine, and Dustin came in and helped with the music. After three weeks the song was finally finished, and I was so excited. Ever since then we have been working on some new songs and spending a lot of time in the studio. We never complain, though, because we all want the same thing- to be able to live out our dream and share our music with the world!
