About the Artist
SKYLER performs regularly to an ever-growing crowd of die-hard fans. Their music combines elements of rock, pop-punk, and alternative into a sound that does nothing short of getting your attention, making you move, and humming the hook for the rest of the day.
Originally conceived in 1998 by lead singer/guitarist/songwriter Andrew Petracca, SKYLER has evolved into a band with a dynamic and crowd-pleasing sound. The other members of the band are Ian Kaczer (lead guitar), Joel Condon (bass), and Lou Imparato (drums). Over the years, SKYLER has succeeded in drawing attention to their songs as well as live performances. On stage, many have claimed that SKYLER's energy is second to none. The band is constantly writing and recording new material, and they are continuing to grow as a band.
In 2005, SKYLER was signed to JLS records, in which time they recorded and released their album "Balls of Steel", which contains fan favorites such as "The Sounds We Play", "Before You Go", and "Summer". Shortly after the album was released, however, SKYLER left the label due to an offer they received from Softdrive Records, a California based label that is co-owned by Scott Weiland (of Stone Temple Pilots/Velvet Revolver fame). That record deal also fell through, as Scott Weiland became overwhelmed by other responsibilities with Velvet Revolver.
Their latest EP, "The Takeover", proves to be their most ambitious effort yet, and it contains the popular song, "Ohio".
Plans for the near future are to promote their material and get signed to a label.
