"Soul Brother" Adam Dib Back As "Dearborn Star" by Dearborn Press & Guide
Alto Saxophone player for the Soul Brothers, Adam Dib is going to be back July 16th at the Ford Community and Performing Arts Center in Dearborn for his final performance as Dearborn Star 2007-2008! Him, along with all other winners in different age categories will relinquish their title to this years new talent. Dearborn's 2nd Annual Talent Competition. Dearborn residents, students and employees of Dearborn Businesses compete for the title of Dearborn Star in their age category. The stars are going to shine on Dearborn! Come see our most talented residents compete in the second annual Dearborn Stars Talent Competition. Dearborn residents, Dearborn full-time students and full-time employees of Dearborn businesses are invited to participate in ‘Dearborn Stars’. Contestants, age 8 to 100 years old, will compete in their appropriate age category by performing their talent in front of a panel of judges. Talent presentations can be a dance routine, singing, magic act, gymnastics, instrumental, stand-up comedy, etc. Not only will the winners hold the prestigious title of ‘Dearborn Star’, but they will also receive a cash prize, trophy and performance opportunities. “Our winners enjoyed performing at special events during the year. We were involved in the Veterans Day Ceremony, Holidays at the Henry Ford Estate, and the upcoming Memorial Day Parade.”, says Nancy Vitale, co-director of Dearborn Stars. Creators of ‘Dearborn Stars’, Nancy Vitale and Chris Sickle are working with the City of Dearborn, again this year, to continue this community event. This competition gives everyone an opportunity to showcase their talent. “Last years contestants had a great time being involved in the competition. For some contestants, it was their first time performing on stage. You don’t often get an opportunity to perform in such a great theater.”, says Sickle, co-director of Dearborn Stars. The competition will be held at the Ford Community and Performing Arts Center the evening of July 16, 2008. Tickets are $8 each and will be available starting July 1, 2008 or the day of the show. Finalists will perform Saturday afternoon at the Dearborn Homecoming, followed by the announcement of the winners.
