About the Artist

Soul Understated, is one of the rarest discoveries in music since Motown. The influences on their music are overwhelming and pleasurable all at once. With elements from EWF to Ella Fitzgerald, Donny Hathaway to Curtis Mayfield, and Sarah Vaughn to Count Basie, and even Hip hop infused into one musical body, allows their music to span across all genres.

After many years of performing with various other artists, in 2008, St. Louis native Jeremy ‘BEAN’ Clemons and North Carolinas finest, Mavis ‘SWAN’ Poole, created Soul Understated. Since 2008, they have appeared at venues across the US, toured Russia, and collaborated with artist such as Nicholas Payton, Marc Cary, Dj mikeflo, Russell Gunn, and Brian Jackson.
