SPARC , backed by strong musicianship, passionate emotionally charged vocals and deep songwriting is preparing for their highly anticipated and upcoming 2011 album release, recorded with producer Garth Richardson (Rage Against the Machine, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Trapt, KISS, Alice Cooper etc). Vocalist Justin and bandmates Dino (bass), Lee (lead guitar) and Seamus (drums) have a story to tell. Each band member has taken separate paths pursuing their musical careers. Lee uprooted his life, leaving his job, friends and family in eastern Canada to move to Vancouver to join the band. Justin put aside education and career to focus completely on songwriting. Dino persevered through tough times in pursuit of his musical goal, like Justin, abandoning other career choices and remaining a dedicated member of the band, never losing sight of his dreams and musical passions. Seamus, the newest addition to the band brings along his fresh and innovative style of drumming carrying with him the same intense vision as the rest of the band members. Each of these musicians has demonstrated a true love of and commitment to their music. They have used this to express and motivate others through song. The band toured across Canada repeatedly, entered and won numerous radio competitions, played the big stages at festivals and venues opening for many well known bands, recorded with world class producers, had their songs broadcast on satellite radio across the continent, had songs added to many TV shows and DVD releases, developed a huge following on myspace, sold out two independent CD releases and attracted a U.S. label signing… at the same time, they experienced the death of a band member, of family members, loss of band members, illnesses and adversity……… Finally, in 2010, because of the new maturity they had developed over the years and the close bond they have forged as a band, they decided to change their name to reflect their emotional and musical progression. The flavor of their music had changed. They abandoned their old identity and most of the music that accompanied it. Their name choice was SPARC. Interestingly, the word SPARC represents a protein which is found in human DNA. Theoretically we could say the name of the band represents the SPARC of life within us. The SPARC bandmates have successfully forged forward in a difficult industry against all odds. Putting aside any other career choices they have dedicated everything in their life to producing and performing music that fans could relate to. They have developed a large close knit group of fans to whom they are forever appreciative for their constant support and involvement with the band over the years. Many lasting friendships among these fans have sprung up across countries and continents , developing into a group of close knit "SPARC" family. Amazingly, fans from as far away as Europe have flown out to SPARC's shows interacting with other SPARC followers that they have met through the SPARC fans network. These fans are the life force behind this band. Expect many great new things coming up from this focused and ambitious band in 2011.
