"You're Not Included." is a 5 song EP written and produced by post-modern rock band Stellar Vector. Strong poetry mix with musical storytelling to create a body of work that attempts to represent the human need to exclude others for self validation. "Houston Complex" is the radio single that has been gaining popularity both her in the States and abroad.
"You're Not Included." was recorded and mixed by Ev Olcott (Haloween, Alaska) over seven days at Integral Studio in Saint Paul, MN. Charles Sadler and Jonathan Ford, with the aid of musicians Daniel Auger on lead guitar, Geoffrey Makousky on Bass and Don Carlson on drums, sought to rigorously capture the sound and energy that they had written, practiced and performed live. Of the eight tracks recorded, five were chosen for the EP.
Hiring the talents of Kelly Sadler, Charles' wife, and her fledgling musician development and management company Mighty Oak Musician Services, the band set out to make their debut release. After a few months of hard work, the final product was released as a "pay what you wish" download on the band's website (
http://www.stellarvector.com).
Previous reviews from fans and online magazines have classified this EP as a Neo-Prog/Post Punk album. They also draw similarities to Peter Gabriel, David Bowie, Radiohead, Genesis and a wide variety of early 80's synth pop bands. One of the band's favorite descriptions is from the website
http://www.synthpop.net which states "...bar the left turn into Orchestral Manoeuvres In the Dark country [Stellar Vector] reminds me a lot of either Marillion with a bit more oomph or a lower tempo version of The Killers."
The release has been pout out under a Creative Commons license, giving the band an opporunity to allow anyone to digitally share the EP non-commercially under the stipulation that Stellar Vector will receive sole credit for the work. Creative Commons defines the spectrum between full copyright - all rights reserved and the public domain - no rights reserved, it is a "some rights reserved" copyright.
Stellar Vector currently performs the EP live throughout the Twin Cities with the help of backing band Tasha's Laughter. The two plan to record with the backing band in the future, but for now plan on releasing the remaining 4 "b-side" tracks and other rareties in a following complementary EP titled "Not In a parallel Universe, Either."
