The Anglo Form in their current format played their first gig in the April of 2008. After a plethora of different line-ups and monikers including; three drummers, two rhythm guitarists, one bassist and one Boss DR-550 Dr Rhythm (now recording a solo album), the band reached their current form. Having played over 50 gigs in less than a year, The Anglo Form have widened their domain of digital depression across the region with coveted appearances at Sunderland Music Live in the summer of 2008 and more recently supporting The Chapman Family on their Oxjam tour of the North East. Their first ever Demo ‘Silo/Archiketure’ won Narc. Magazines Demo of the Month for February of this year and with more recognition in the offing, many are proclaiming they will ‘take over the planet’ in the next couple of years. Also their recent single 'Revolt In Paris' was played on BBC 6Music's BBC Introducing with Tom Robinson. PRESS ‘By far and away the best demo this month comes from The Anglo Form. A band which sounds like all the best parts of the Prodigy, The Sex Pistols and The Chemical Brothers, they play like a new band should. Frantic guitar work and electro drums add to gothic vocals to make a post-punk electro stew. While getting a touch repetitive a times, you can imagine hearing this in a club and going into utter meltdown. It might sound strange, but it’s very different from the usual drivel that the North East spills from its grubby practice rooms.’ – Narc. Magazine, Demo of the Month (Silo/Archiketure) ‘Having heard great things about this band without ever actually hearing their songs, I was excited to the point of climax when this landed on my desk. So was the tension and build up worth it? The Anglo Form have created some deeply dark and disturbing music on the two tracks on this CD. First track ‘Silo’ sounds like a lost outtake from Joy Division’s bleak masterpiece Closer. Its lilting, staggering guitar riff lends it an eerie quality that’s backed by an almost dub step type drum machine beat. Andrew Holder’s creepy vocals simmer over the top, his lyrics foreboding, making your skin crawl. ‘Archiketure’, the second track, is less shade more light, an electro track with nasty synth bleeps and a drum track that will make you wanna chop your ears off (in a good way) and dance around uncontrollably like a possessed nun. I’m gonna have to give this a massive thumbs up. Supreme!’ – Manifesto Magazine, Review (Silo/Archiketure) "Genius" - Tom Robinson BBC 6Music (Revolt In Paris)
