The Big Dirty Shakedown

The Big Dirty Shakedown is a rock group based out of Austin, Texas. Their story began at a small 2 bedroom apartment where guitarist Chris Klinedinst lived along with his musical equipment. Jams would take place. Sometimes leading to a police officer knocking on the window. The jams and equipment were eventually moved into a proper rehearsal facility.

During the early part of 2009, the band only consisted mainly of drummer Casey Byars, bassist/guitarist Shawn Goodin, and Chris Klinedinst also playing guitar. There was yet to be a voice over the music until Danny Listrom was invited in. He had previously been playing with Casey in a project called Don’t Feed The Pigs. When that died out Casey and Danny went on to other projects. Although Danny had jammed with the Chris, Shawn and Casey before, it wasn’t until after a few songs had been written that he stepped in and began to develop vocal melodies for the arrangements. Within a month the band had about 5 songs and were quickly writting more. Over the next few months the band dove into writing. Only playing a handful of shows the entire year, BDS focused on tightening up their songs, recording, and creating a live show that would be memorable everyone.
