Fusing Beach Boys styled vocal harmonies with modern influences like the Killers, Muse, and Franz Ferdinand, the Bolts generate a distinct sound that reflects just what the five members are all about: great music and personality. All with backgrounds in classical music and voice, the four lead singers and drummer of the Bolts love every aspect of the art. "Music has been very important to all of us for a long time," says guitarist and vocalist Heath Farmer. "To be able to combine all of our different influences together in this band... it really makes everything fresh and worthwhile." That may be understating it for the young rockers - their unique sound and rapidly growing fan base is already making a notable impact in their hometown's music community of Orange County, CA. After being together less than four months, home-made demos of the Bolts' original songs landed on the local hour of KROQ 106.7 FM, eventually leading to more than five different songs on the rock station as well as other local and college radio. A few months later, the Bolts won first place at the "Bamboozle Break" competition and earned themselves a spot as one of the stage's closing acts at the 2008 Bamboozle Left festival. Going on to participate more at local competitions, the band walked away victorious time and time again. The Bolts quickly started gaining attention from their local press; with headlines like "The Bolts strike quickly" and "The Bolts' rep heats up", excitement for the rock quintet prolonged. They then were awarded the title of Orange County's "Best Pop Artist" from the OC Music Awards. British music producer Andy Johns, famous for his work with legendary rock artists the Rolling Stones, Eric Clapton, Van Halen, and Led Zeppelin, got word of the Bolts during the band's ten-week residency at the Grove of Los Angeles in Spring of 2009. Johns recognized the potential in the Bolts and produced three original songs from the band, including one song at Capitol Studios' historic "Studio B". Since then, the Bolts moved on to record their new album, "Play the Music", with critically acclaimed producer/songwriter Keith Everette Smith, released on Sept. 25th 2010 to an enthusiastic, over-capacity crowd at the Gaslamp in Long Beach, CA (capacity 700). The Bolts continue to pack all the local venues including the House of Blues, Roxy, and OC Pavilion and continue to please hundreds of fans a show with meet 'n greets and autograph signings. After enduring a long audition process, the Bolts were selected to be on the roster of regular performing artists with original music at Disneyland's Tomorrowland Terrace and Downtown Disney stages where the band plays five shows each night. The Bolts are still unsigned.
