Baltimore City Peek by Found on local baltimore music website....
I am new to the Baltimore scene, but am pretty proactive- i like to see shows on the weekends.... Big time DMB fan so i went to check out Crowded Streets, a DMB tribute band and caught the opening act;The Fishermen Band. All i have to say is- go see this band. Was totally blown away....bought the CD, and was blown away again. How come i have never heard of this band before? and does anyone know where they play besides Rams Head in Baltimore? Hands down the best band i have seen on the east coast! best songs, best singing, most fun i have ever had. THANK YOU:) -Ray S.

"June 16th, 2007 reviewed by: Michael Ross Every so often, i happen upon a show that reminds me of exactly why i love Austin, Texas. i had heard about this new band through a mutual friend, and had been wanting to catch a show. last monday, i caught the Fishermen(no pun intended) at the Belmont on west 6th street. First and foremost, what a great venue! outdoors, palm trees, great stage, and great sound. I sat down ordered a drink, and sat back for one of the best shows i have ever seen. The Fishermen start out with slow songs, AMAZING vocals, and a real feel good vibe. They mix in Folk, Raggae, and Rock influences. Their songs are mature, funky, fun, and well plotted. And every song is catchy. REALLY catchy. They play three, fourty-five minute sets- and i count fourty- eight songs. This number of original songs is very rare, and the best part is-about ten of those songs are absolute hit songs. I was so impressed with this bands sound. They blend very well, and bass player Cameron Holley provides alot of color underneath singers/guitarists/ Brothers -Phillip and Lindsay Hough. The brothers moved to Austin almost a year ago after signing with local Indie label AmercianSoul Records, and have already opened for the very popular Boombox,and DJ Rapid Ric- apparently weekly at Lucky Lounge on tuesday nights(though i have frequented that show, and never seen them). This monday evening was spectacular, and the Fishermen really know how to deliver. Serving up an all original program, with a unique cover thrown in here and there. Mondays at the Belmont is my new favorite night of the week. see them there from five to eight-thirty. With harmonies sailing into the night, i left thinking "is this the best band in Austin?"
