About the Artist
The Framecell formed in September of 2008 out of a combination of boredom, workaholism, and bad relationships in the fairly uneventful town of New Britain, Connecticut. Mike Harrison (vocals, guitar) and Peter Stroczkowski (bass, vocals), coworkers at a local coffee shop, knew each other from the small music scene based around New Britain High School, but came together to form a band from a shared love of bands like Incubus, Minus the Bear, Silversun Pickups, and Mew. After recruiting drummer Thomas Landon, and guitarist Jason Marsh to fill out the line-up, the band sought to play as many shows as possible, whether in venues, basements, or parking lots, while writing songs that blended ambient guitar play, soaring vocals and melodies, and perspective-based lyricism. The band released their debut EP, Metaphors & Abstract Imagery, on a self-funded budget in 2009.
