Formed in 1989, The Jimi Vincent Band plays rockin' blues. Comments are often made about how much fun the band has as they rattle the rafters and treat their listeners to an explosive musical experience. One can certainly feel the energy the band generates as they take the listener on a musical journey through the world of blues.
The Jimi Vincent Band is having a great time with the 2008 summer season. JVB will be opening a show for Elvin Bishop and Ana Popovic on August 30, 2008. The 2007 blues festival summer tour brought many new listeners to their brand of the blues. They have opened shows for headliners Robert Cray, Tinsley Ellis, Bonnie Raitt, Keb Mo and John Lee Hooker Jr. Jimi has also opened for the great Robert Lockwood Jr., Blue Oyster Cult, Foghat, Mark Farner, Travis Tritt, Emmylou Harris, and many others.
When the band performed at the Heritage Music Festival in Wheeling, West Virginia, Jimi was asked to be the host band for the after hours jam session held at a local club for all Heritage Festival performers. The audience went wild as The Anthony Gomes Band joined Jimi onstage for a truly memorable set . A number of other musicians took the stage as the blues burned well into the night.
The Jimi Vincent Band was selected to perform at the International Blues Challenge to be held in Memphis Tennessee. Blues artists from around the world will turn Beale Street into one of the most exciting blues festivals one could ever imagine. This was JVB's third performance at the IBC.
