The Mesmerines

The Mesmerines sound and attitude are direct descendents of bands that were active participants in Boston 's post-punk scene of the eighties and nineties. Bands such as The Radical Cams (acid pop), The Wayouts (hard acid rock), CCCP-TV (art punk), The Crosbees (Real Kids style garage pop), Love Handle (hard rock), Mod Gods (brit vocal pop), Roman Bornski Quartet (puzzling), Thee Wytches (60's style garage rock) Magnetic Milk (psychedelic goth pop), Abraham Lincoln (vocal folk pop) and Hixx (God help us) to name a few. Also having dabbled heavily in underground country, jazz and progressive rock, Tom Abbott, Mark Robinson, Richard Mirsky and Jon Landy bring their extraordinary musical lineage and experiences together to create a new experience called The Mesmerines

The Mesmerines are now actively promoting their first 4-song EP. Produced by Hugh Wyman, one of Boston 's best new producers, the EP is a sonic tour de force of songwriting skill and musicianship, providing a small taste of what the public can expect when the band returns to the studio to begin work on the LP this fall. Radio friendly yet uncompromising, stark yet hopeful, The Mesmerines are obviously angling themselves to be considered as not only exciting live performers, but unique and exceptional songwriters as well.

Currently the EP is on the playlists of several college radio stations around the country after the band's nation-wide live debut during the IBS-Palooza festival
