About the Artist
Born in the South Bronx burough of New York City, Tre8 is no stranger to the roots of hip hop. After moving to Cincinnati as a child, he began honing his own rap skills at age ten when he began freestyling over songs on the radio. At 12, Tre8 joined his middle school choir and poetry club, which made his love for music and performance arts more intense than ever. After forming a rap group with high school friends Baby DAS(now Deacon Das) and Maury D(A.K.A My Ugly Duuude), Tre8 evolved his writing and recording style into the gritty, melodic, urban poetry he is known for today. Tre8 has had the privilege to open for various acts from The Last Poets, to Cincinnati Hip Hop legends The Watusi Tribe. Known for his passionate delivery and captivating storytelling, Tre8 stands in a league of his own.
