Verity in Stereo

In 2008, vocalist Kiirstin Kuhi left her former post-hardcore band and joined forces with her pianist brother Mikal, writing songs at the upright piano in their parents' living room. They performed as a piano/vocal duo under the name HIP LIKE [blank] until the release of their eponymous debut EP in February 2009.

For their EP release show, the siblings enlisted the talents of experienced metal drummer Craig Williams, whose enthusiasm for collaborating on a different style of music led him to become a permanent member. In 2009 they were joined by multi-instrumentalist and longtime friend Corinne Cavallo, whose back-up vocal, flute, clarinet, and saxophone talents proved unique but vital.

With songs that are intimate and grandiose, playful and melancholy, Verity in Stereo draw from jazz, rock, hip-hop, folk and pop to create a unique sound as idiosyncratic as their influences but far greater than the sum of its parts.
