youth group sings to the hearts of hartford studen by reggie hales
Hartford, CT - J ADORE Brings Real Emotion to Connecticut. On Thursday, April 13, 2006, Prince Charles Music Group’s recording artist, J ADORE brought their sultry and harmonious sound to a pleased and packed crowd at Hartford’s Lewis Fox Middle School. J ADORE, an acronym for Just Another Day Of Real Emotion brought their twenty city Safe Streets for Kids Tour to Hartford and showed that their name is well deserved. In front of a select group of students (chosen by top performance within each cluster), this five-man group of twenty-something young men, thrilled their audience with their smooth vocal arrangements and tightly choreographed dance movements in their 45-minute performance. Along with their musical performance, they brought the message of staying in school, stopping the violence and promoting reading as they do to every crowd that they meet on tour. This was a timely event, coming on the heels of a recent melee that ensued at this very school a couple of months ago. All raised in New York City, J ADORE consists of five young men, V.I.P., Jay R, D Nyce, Pop and Mike, of diverse backgrounds but all possessing a desire and devotion to develop and hone their skills into what was an excellent performance. This event was the brain trust and desire of Fox Middle student, Shanell Simpson. She was familiar with the group not only through their first release and hot video on BET, Okay, but also through their road manager and promoter, Dave Jemmott of Brockton, Massachusetts. Dave is also the father and manager of singer, Casey Jemmott, who was one of the opening acts for J ADORE, along with song stylist, Robin. “ I love doing this type of tour because I’m a living example of staying safe. I tell the kids I meet on the road that it is very important to try their best to practice will power and not to hang with the wrong crowd, said Casey.” Many of the students were familiar with Casey, as he has performed at many of Hartford’s schools as part of Radio Disney’s educational programming, sponsored by the Traveler’s Foundation. Through a friendship formed with the Jemmotts, Shanell approached Fox Principal, Andrew Serrao and Vice Principal, Sheldon Neal about bringing this group to Hartford, resulting in this event. Helping to produced the event were Connie Cole of WQTQ Radio and Bruce Carter of Godfather Productions. Along with J ADORE, Robin, a freshman at Tallahassee’s Florida A&M University and Casey, the country’s youngest club owner (Club 508 - a teen club in his hometown of Brockton), consistently pushed the importance of education and achievement throughout their performances. “ I tell the young girls that they should stay true to the morals their parents give them. And that they should not experiment with pre-mature sex. And if they must, they should always use a condom, said Robin.” This thrust was timely as Fox is in the middle of their annual Read-A- Thon, a time to promote and enhance each student’s reading skills. On the night before, J ADORE was the spotlight artist of the week on Weaver High’s WQTQ Radio. During this hour-long, live interview with host, Carla Canty, J ADORE sang tight a capella arrangements, gave anecdotes of their upbringing, took phone calls and gave away a few of their new self titled CD. Their time in Connecticut was capped off with a performance at Club Vibz, as part of X-Clusive’s Comedy Night. Robin and Casey again opened up and J ADORE closed off the evening singing two ballads and ended the night with a rousing dance demonstration that goes along with their first release, Okay. Something that J ADORE proved was whether they are in front of a group of teenagers or the grown and sexy, they evoke real emotion. J’ADORE, is a young up and coming hot new male vocal group on PCMG MUSIC. PRINCE CHARLES MUSIC GROUP (PCMG) launched a multi-city East Coast School Tour called the SAFE STREETS FOR KIDS TOUR beginning with Lewis Fox Middle School in Hartford to high schools in Richmond Virginia beginning in April though May 2006. The tour will star J’Adore, whose vocal supremacy and smooth dance routines have intriqued and excited fans all over the country. Last year, J’Adore was introduced to the teen market by gracing the pages of teen mags, such as Right-On and Word-Up!, in addition to appearing on SOUL TRAIN, performing their hit single, “Okay” as well as appearing as the opening act for Teen Music Superstars, OMARION and CHRIS BROWN. Recently, their debut music video premiered on BET’s 106th & Park as “New Joint Of The Day”. The theme of this SAFE STREET FOR KIDS TOUR is to help prevent kids from making destructive decisions that affect their lives and the lives of others. The tour addresses the problems that teens encounter such as hatred, gang violence, teen pregnancy, drug abuse, school truancy by scheduling a Question & Answer session after each performance by the group. Following a three-song set, the group exited the schools auditorium where they were mobbed not only by some of the fans at the event, but by passersby in the neighborhood who heard the hot sounds from the groups self-titled debut album and spotted the eye-catching teen vocalists. The group, trailed by management and security, fled from the location by foot, followed by dozens of frantic fans. Later that night in Boston, JAdore opened for other R&B household names Lloyd and brothers ORyan and Omarion Grandberry, and again left the venue causing hysteria among young female ticket holders. JAdores self-titled debut album drops in this summer, featuring the single, Okay," produced by Younglord of Bad Boy Records hitman fame. On March 28th, after taping their high energy performance on Soul Train, later that evening at a meet and greet held at LA hot spot Stevie's Creole Café, JAdore again treated the packed supper club to a two song show, where they put it down like veteran showmen, to the thrill and awe of everyone present.
