About the Artist
A Brief bio on Young June: Young June was born on September 20, 1989 to Princess-Cincerae. Young June is the only boy out of five of his mother children and the second to the youngest child. Young June had his first child when he was just 16 years old and his second when he was 17 leaving his mother to be a young grandmother. Young June was raised by a single mother, who did her best job keeping him in community activities just to keep him out of the streets. If June was not at football practice, he was attending or volunteering at the Boys & Girls Club on 18th & Hunting Park Ave. in Nice Town. Young June was always a talented kid from sports to artwork he loved putting his all in to it. He was 12-years- old and a freshman at Elizabeth Gillespie Middle school when he wrote his first rap. He was influenced by music from the various from the group called “Hot Boyz”, and other hip hop Icons such as LL Cool J, the Notorious B.I.G., 2 Pac, and Jay z. He tends to rap about everyday life, the struggle, or even the Good life, mainly thing they have spoken about, but putting his own twist on it. He even started his own rap group which presented 8 rappers from around his neighborhood. As group members left one by one, he just kept it moving and grew more humble. June even try to replace members that left, but it did not work out, so him and his partner in crime Tommy “Khalil Smith” Flame, decided that it will just be good idea to just become a duo group by the name of “Live Or Die” which later split because of differences. Young June is now an upcoming solo artist in Philadelphia that is trying to make himself a name by delivering his best on every song he features or make and becoming consisted with his music. Throughout the year he had made himself a very remarkable artist which gave him the name to be “The Prince of Nice town”, which is located in his neighborhood North Philadelphia. Young June, who was once in a 8 man Group, that accordingly drop down to a duo, is now working on a solo album which is untitled for the moment, but he stated that "living in North Philly is like living in the jungle, and you have to eat to survive" so he will look at that for inspiration. Artist such as Jay-z, Nas, Lil Wayne, 50 Cents, Rakim, to name a few, are some of the artist that he look up to. What is Young June working on today? Young June is now working on mix tapes to get himself a buzz in his city. As Young June makes his way to the top; he is mentored by his partner in crime Tommy Flame and his childhood friend Young Ty who is also one of his producers. Young June always follow his model "Get wit me or Get at me", because he feel if you’re not with him your against him.
