Moving to LA is the hardest thing I have ever done. I left everything I knew, but it felt great to turn a new leaf. I started at the bottom by playing local open mics and continually writing new songs. In early 2009 I connected with producer Jim Roach. Jim is a badass who saw talent in me I wasn't sure existed. We began working together on my music and I started writing tons of songs and playing guitar until my fingers hurt. Fast forward a few months after that, and now I have a few recordings I'm really proud of that I hope make you feel something.
I write songs mostly because I have a bunch of stuff in my head that drives me a little crazy if it stays in there too long. Usually my songs are personal, but sometimes an idea pops into my head and I'm not really sure why, but I always find a way to make it relate to my life. It is important for me to write music that means something to me. I've written a lot of songs, some I'm really proud of, some that are pretty horrible. I just want to make music that makes me feel good while I'm singing it, and if you guys happen to like it too, then that is pretty neat.
See you out there. Thank you for listening.
Much love,
Jesse
