Little Rock, Arkansas, is known for lots of things. Birthing progressive, forward-thinking Christian hip-hop artists have not been one of them – until now. A clever wordsmith yet true to the Word of God, playful yet serious to life, Matta Fact, born Jeremy Gaston, has set out to lead the hip-hop music industry on a long awaited exodus. With a writing technique which he has coined as bridge music, Matta Fact (now a 13-year Dallas native) moves straightforwardly through a weighty tale of the loss of a child in an unplanned abortion (“Things I Never Said”), to lyric heavy concepts about success (“Tilted World”), and finally an unashamed proclamation of who Christ is (“One Of A Kind”) on his inaugural LP "LOUD & CLEAR", which includes a live performance with Gospel recording artist, Colin Edge. Locally, Matta Fact has even been labeled the “Nas of Christian Hip-Hop.” As he states in “Titled World”, he strives to offer listeners “much more than moving your feet to a shuffling beat...” Along with Altitude (Jeff Howard), Michelle Brooks, and Motive Poe (Courtney Taylor), Matta Fact is at the center of a versatile faction of Dallas lyricists and vocalist, called Building Narrow Minds, striving to "bridge" the gap between the secular world and the church by taking hip hop out of the four walls. Now preparing the release of his second mixtape this fall titled ENTER THE THRONE, which will be the prelude to his debut album, EXALT THE THRONE, Matta Fact has gathered a full head of steam and has focused his creative attention to speaking up against bullying, hippocracy and human trafficking.
