Katie Quick

BIOGRAPHY

Katie Quick, a former 6th Grade Chicago Public School Teacher, incorporated music in her classroom as a way to motivate and inspire her inner-city students. This resulted in obvious improvements in test scores, attendance, and behavior. Despite all of the classroom success, her former principal, jealous and jaded, lowered her rating during end of the year teacher evaluations. When asked for an explanation, the principal took one look at her and said, “Katie, your music will NEVER pay the bills.”

Katie knew that she now had the opportunity to be a better teacher out of the classroom then she ever could have been within. She set out with her unbreakable spirit not only to prove her principal wrong, but more importantly, to show her students that ANYTHING was possible. A blessing in disguise, some say, because since leaving teaching, Katie has written over 250 songs, played over 350 shows, self-released and self-produced two albums of original music recorded in Nashville, appeared on nationally syndicated radio and television, and had her story featured in national and international publications. She has sold albums and developed a fan base from New York City to Nashville, and everywhere in between. She is even building a loyal fan base overseas since the release of her 5-Star Album Review with the largest country music publication in the UK. And although music is not quite paying her bills just yet, Maverick Magazine said it best when they stated, “Katie Quick is set for success beyond her wildest dreams.”
