It was dark times, and it was about to get a whole lot darker. Nameliss took a train and a bus from Oakland to San Jose. I picked him up there and brought him the rest of the way to Santa Cruz . He had never heard the beat before, but he wrote that shit and recorded it in like 45 minutes. And somehow I was able to play organ like I never have before or since. After that day we didn't see each other for 2 years.
