Description
My story of growing up on a little piece of wooded property in a ruff part of the city. Over time as things get worse in the city my trees and property get closed in on, and my friends are being effected, homes are being broken and sadly corruption takes root. Although it feels like your forest is disappearing, never forgot you are like a tree and from you a world can be replenished. www.romanandalaina.com

Last forest in the city, deep woods is where I’m from Wanna see my kaleidoscope night lamp, forest shadows on cop lights purdy as it looks, sure don’t sound like fun They called me Chrome, cause I liked your hub caps But Pops whooped me taught me steeling's straight dumb I was only 10 when I jumped across the swamp And realized we the last forest on the block My fam is my gang, we don’t have colors Except the stains on our fingers from dippin in the koo-laid bag I ruled the dirt hill, with my stray dog woody Who never flinched even for a gun shot Sucks we buried him a little on the young side How long could we last, as the world got stranger Trying chop down my good trees and make fire to burn a stank tree I was only 10 when I jump across the swamp And realized we the last forest on the block ---- As we decay our forests are getting smaller everyday every night we kids are gettin shot at as we play the fields are now off limits crack head needles in the hay the worlds dun gone broke, i don't think the’ll let us stay ----- So I climbed the hawk tree, told them busters to lemme be they tearing down my land, next they lookin at me my gang is fighting in the streets, poison slippin in our back creeks next thing ya know, life in the woods is about done I was only 10 when I jumped across the swamp And realized, we the last forest on the block We probably didn't win but sure didn’t end and if ya ask me, we still the last forest on the block Oh yes we are, the last forest on the block Oh you better tell somebody
