Description
This is the first (and title) track on my new record. Dark Matter is the invisible substance made up of neutrinos that makes up roughly 80% of the matter in the universe. It is what holds the stars and galaxies in place and is a remnant of the Big Bang. Metaphorically, in this song/record, it stands for those things that bring us together; those invisible ties that link us as human beings.

Feet on the ground Eyes on the sky I was lost in thought When you walked on by “Are you looking at the stars Shining on the scene?” I said, “No, I’m scoping out The spaces in-between.” Dark Matter Bringing us together It’s just connective tissue Not an issue Full dispersal Universal The Neutrino ties that bind We’re shattered But keeping it together I guess it’s really comforting to know That when you know you’re gonna blow The little pieces find cohesion In the echo of the Big Bang You looked me in the eye And then you looked away I laughed cause I had Nothing more to say You said, “Have you lost your mind? There’s nothing there to see.” If that’s the case The human race Should declare an emergency Chorus I need some information This degree of separation Is a lucrative vocation But a blight upon the nation We keep searching for salvation Evolution or Creation? But its further automation That evokes the most elation.
