Not a bad track, however when compared to most average groups/bands here in Ourstage, you sound very ordinary. In terms of having a band member making personal comments on their own material, there's nothing wrong with that..If you feel confident about your work and want to express yourself, I think it's cool. Anyway, all the best with your tunes, and continue to improve.
I have to kind of agree with Jaxeman here. Self promotion is all good, but it can go a little over the line. Jaxeman may be rude like Thatguy1 says, but I have seen his critics and tend to agree with many of them. I do think this whole argument here seems a bit childish. So.........can't we just all get along?
Hey Boob. (And I'm not being rude, it's what you call yourself.) First off, I think that the HER that That Guy was refering to was the wife. Not me.
Second. The grammar. Yeah, you got me. I'll bet your proud. 2 thumbs up.
I don't "fancy" myself to be like anyone. If you read MOST of my critiques they do offer constructive critisism. However, and this may just be me, I find when people post about their own songs, it just looks silly. I mean, at least use a fake profile! (C'mon now, don't pretend like you ALL don't do that to boost your vote counts...
I'd say a good 75% of my comments offer either a High 5 or a bit of constructive critisism. For some of the more awful crap, yeah, maybe I am a bit mean, but seriously, if you think the music industry is all cupcakes and sunshine, you need to reconsider your goals.
Regarding my credentials... I'm sure they are just as good as anyone elses on here, Mr. I-Was-In-A-Band-Once. I have been in the music industry long enough to know what sucks, what's markatable and who needs to go ahead and submit that application at Taco Bell.
In fact, Boob, I actually get quite a bit of mail from people thanking me for my comments and for keeping them honest. Others find that a positive remark from me is actually something that's worth a damn since I AM honest.
Coming on her to JUDGE music and then pretending that I'm a jerk for not kissing eveyones butt us a bit ironic I'd say.
While I agree that Jaxe has a minor point here, although his, (or her according to ThatGuy1), grammar is quite bad. In fact, I have seen quite a bit of it from him/her in his/her other postings. This makes me question how seriously one should take his/her criticism. Jaxe, it's IS not ARE. You really should proof read before posting. It's also bothersome that he/she doesn't venture any constructive criticism on the MUSIC, which is what the ARTISTS are all here for. I'm guessing he fancies himself/herself as a Simon Cowell wannabe. I also agree with ThatGuy1, that Promogod's wife is probably a bit biased. But then again, isn't that the job of a manager or promoter and their employees and family? I have seen plenty of bands post things about themselves on here as well. Is it so wrong that they promote themselves other than just the music? If I was in a band, I would most certainly self promote as much as possible, and I would do the same if I was just a good friend of someone in a band. It's great that Jaxe likes to dish out his/her opinion on music, but it's only his or her opinion, and what are his/her credentials anyway? Does Paula Abdul have the right to judge singing talent when she herself has none?( I don't believe so). She should be a dance critic, since she is more of an expert on that. But then again, this is all just my opinion, and who am I to judge. Jaxe, if you are going to be a critic, at least stick to constructive criticism, and leave the petty and childish BS out of it.
Well, if you would look at the different number at the end, you would see that is NOT my account. I am the manager (promogod07) and promogod08 is my wife. She does not do any business with the band, but loves their work. And that is the rest of the story...good day!
Ummmmm, promogod, you entered the song. So we can assume that you are either a member of the band or part of the band's management team. Therefore adding comments about how awesome the song are and asking why it's not #1, are a little silly.... don't you think?
