Description
Leave Yourself Behind involves the experience I think we all have -- at one point or another -- when we realize that no matter where we go, or how far, our problems will always be with us. Our fears, wounds, scars, doubts, etc. we can't escape them because they are what make us WHO we are. They originate from within. So, the only way to truly escape them is to forget yourself entirely.
Lyrics
Verse: The things that made you what you are are the ones that you want to change, The rules that make you do as you do are the ones that you want to break, The places that taught you all you know are the ones that you need to escape, So take a train, Take a car -- it doesn't matter, so long as you end up anywhere, but where you are. Take a plane, before you go insane -- you need to make your escape. Chorus: Oh, it doesn't matter where you go -- oh, no Wherever you are, there you'll be -- you'll see Oh, it doesn't matter where you go -- oh, no Forgetting yourself is the only way to be free Bridge: Just remember, when you pack your bags: leave yourself behind. And any memories that might be lingering, can be kept at the back of your mind.
