Reductionism

The "mind-body problem" is something that has troubled philosophers forever. Essentially, it's the troubling duality of physical form and sentient consciousness. Our conscious awareness seems to be dependent on physical structures, and yet it's impossible to reduce cognitive events to a physical explanation without sacrificing the experiential part of reality.
