Wang Ming Yue

Duration

Description

Unabashedly epic-sounding emotive Pop sung with heart in Mandarin Chinese. We especially love the big-ass drums our producer Jarome @ ProSoul put in there stolen from the Wham!/George Michael kit that gives it a big, dramatic 80's sound. The general theme of the song is missing home, friends and family when you're far away from them.

Lyrics

It is inspired by an ancient Chinese poem written by the most talented romantic poet in China's Tang Dynasty-,Li Bai. In the Still of the Night I descry bright moonlight in front of my bed. --Chuang Qian Ming Yue Guang I suspect it to be hoary frost on the floor---Yi Shi Di Shang Shuang I watch the bright moon, as I tilt back my head---Ju Tou Wang Ming Yue I yearn, while stooping, for my homeland more--Di Tou Si Gu Xiang This poem is about home sickness. My lyrics starts with the same image with the poem Chuang Qian Ming Yue Guang--I descry bright moonlight in front of my bed. But immediately, instead of feeling emotional and sentimental about the sight of the moonlight, I ask some questions--who is still watching the bright moon and missing home, whether people are still missing home while watching the bright moon. Then I offered questions from my own perspective--personally, while I am watching the moon, I am not missing home, as matter of fact, I'm not missing anyone. I am just watching it. Nothing sentimental, nothing emotional about it. When the music builds up, the chorus comes in,that's when the original ancient poem is chanted in an Chinese operatic style.
