This song was written from the perspective of someone who wrestles with questions of identity and inwardly struggles with pain and acceptance. This song mentions "the ocean's tide" which is God's love washing over us and taking root in the main character's life. This song is unique in that it has a different kind of a sound than a lot of rock songs out there. We wanted this song to be eerie in the end like drowning in an ocean.
