This song, this record as a whole, is about karma, relationships, and the journey of life, all set against the backdrop of desert sands. The desert is a great metaphor to me, as there is so much life hidden beneath what you see at first glance. Many see the desert as devoid of life, and like most of our most significant experiences, the reality is far more complex. Peeling back the layers of lifetimes and lessons learned, there we find truth and honesty, in all its beauty and ugliness.
