Blackout

We had an actual blackout at my apartment a couple years ago. In the darkness, I started to thinking about how difficult it is to function without light, and how similarly, it is a challenge to make a relationship function without communication. In this song, the blackout is used as a metaphor for silence, or maybe even lies between two people who love each other.
