PlayThe Yuppie Husband's Lament

by Scott Albert Johnson

I wrote this song as a joke. I was playing a fair amount of blues at the time, and it occurred to me that the blues are really universal. So I quickly wrote a blues song from the standpoint of an upwardly mobile “yuppie husband”.

This song was recorded in New Orleans, with the great Johnny Vidacovich on drums; Mike Hood on Hammond B-3; Dave Jordan on bass guitar; and Sherman Lee Dillon on guitar.
