Album: Coping Mechanisms
By:
Jason Z

Duration

4:09

Description

About the dysfunction that surrounds us in LA. Kids who achieve fame as a casualty, kids who slip through the dilapidated school system, crazy religious freaks ranting and raving, steroid bouncers protecting their little piece of turf and everything else pulling society down. It is an observation of how these competing forces are leading to collapse unless everyone carries their load. The chorus is a resigned and dismissive chain gang chant used as a coping mechanism.

Lyrics

Surrounded in tape, Immortal In Chalk That Jesus man yeah he sure can talk Slip through the cracks, king for a day This shit's going down no matter how hard you pray Come on now! I said, uh, hi, hi, hi Well there's not too much runway left to go Walls coming down lest every man carry his load Now I spit in your face you think you try to act hard One goddamn word is gonna set me off I flex in the night, a slave by the day I said this shit's going down no matter how hard you pray Come on now, sst, sst, sst Hi, Hi, Hi Well there's not too much runway left to go Walls coming down now, Walls coming down now What's on the other side... you don't know I said, uh, hi, hi, hi Well there's not too much runway left to go Walls coming down lest every man carry his load
