This song is about telling someone they will not be aloud to hold you an emotional prisoner. I wrote This Devastation Ends to help deal with the heartbreak of a relationship gone bad. I wanted her to know how devastated I was, but at the same time to know that I was going to make it through, that no matter how painful she wasnt going to ruin me!
