PlaySong of the Open Road

by Merry Ellen Kirk

This is based on the poem, "Song of the Open Road", by Walt Whitman. It's about the journey of life down a road that's already been created for us, but we have to choose the right way.

Wow - this is extremely beautiful, in a haunting sort of way. Totally deserving of that #1 spot. I'm voting for ya

beautiful sound cool chord progression

The track kicks in right away with Merry's voice, which is strong, true and beautifully recorded, with some excellent automated reverb. Accompaniment is restricted to a a minimal piano which leaves the voice right up front- just where it should be- to bring out the lyric. All this plus a strong melody, makes a very good song.
